Check out this site and subscribe to the newsletter.
This is not a recruitment site. We are here to help you decide what’s best for YOU.
The Constitution of the United States of America
is what all military members swear to protect and defend.
“I DO SOLEMNLY SWEAR (OR AFFIRM) THAT I WILL SUPPORT AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES AGAINST ALL ENEMIES, FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC; THAT I WILL BEAR TRUE FAITH AND ALLEGIANCE TO THE SAME; AND THAT I WILL OBEY THE ORDERS OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES AND THE ORDERS OF THE OFFICERS APPOINTED OVER ME, ACCORDING TO REGULATIONS AND THE UNIFORM CODE OF MILITARY JUSTICE. SO HELP ME GOD.”
So there you are, deciding what to do next, and it hits you. Join the military. It’s a great idea and it can help set up your future. There is college money available, job skills, travel and finding out who you are and what you’re made of. The military offers so much and in such a variety that it’s surprising more people don’t take the leap.
This web site is here to help people understand what the military actually is. Not from the perspective of a recruiter or the media but real veterans who remember the anxiety, excitement and second thoughts of joining. The information here will include insight from vets that loved the military and are still in, to the one’s that hated it and would risk their lives to stop their worst enemy from joining. This information is going to be as objective as possible, so that the decision to enlist will be easier and more clear.
The military is a great way to begin the path to a career, but it isn’t for everybody. And one branch may be a better choice for an individual than another branch. An Army recruiter isn’t going to tell an extremely well versed, self taught, computer expert that maybe the Air Force is the better way to go. The Army has hi-tech fields too. Oh, and the recruiter has a quota to make, but I’m sure that wouldn’t cause him to maybe bend the truth in any way.
The goal of this site is to bring all of the needed information to one place. The most important thing you can do, before joining, is research. The site is broken down into sections, so that you can get information in small chunks. Information will be added and updated, so it would be a good idea to check back every week or so. As the community here grows, so will the knowledge base.
Good luck.
